5.  Agent Carter

Now I’ve reached the point on this list where I sat for a day and literally could not choose which of the remaining material I liked the most. From No. 5 to No. 1, it became almost impossible to choose, but I was able to find that little bit in me to make some choices. Agent Carter was one of the best comic-based shows I’ve watched. Other people obviously agreed, as fans everywhere demanded a Season 2 which IS happening.

Agent Carter took us back in time and showed us the formation of S.H.I.E.L.D., giving viewers insight on what came before it. Along the way, we got cool stories such as a tie-in with Black Widow’s origin via the Russian camp used to train young operatives. That episode gave you chills at times.

The series also felt like an extended movie with an appearance of the Howling Commandos and by continuing Peggy’s story where Captain America: The First Avenger left off. It was a lot of fun to see a late 1940s Marvel Universe start to come together with secrets that kept building up and becoming a total spy thriller.

I’m very much part of the group that wanted Season 2 to happen and to see Hayley Atwell come back to kicking butt again as Peggy, along with more heroes and villains from that era coming in as we see S.H.I.E.L.D. form. There isn’t much to say on the negative side about this show, except maybe the fact that it was too short. I wanted to see more, but at least it’s keeping me anxiously waiting for next season.
