Ronda Rousey Says She’d Be Game To Play Captain Marvel
By Nick Tylwalk
Ronda Rousey is the undisputed baddest woman on the planet right now, tearing through all challengers to her UFC title. Carol Danvers is one of Marvel’s premier female super heroes, an unquestioned butt-kicker in her own right and soon to get a massive profile boost thanks to her own Marvel Cinematic Universe film. Could there be a match there?

There just might be. In her recent Reddit AMA, Rousey was asked which hero she would play if she was in a super hero movie. Her response mentioned that “a lot of the good ones have been taken,” but also added that she’d “like to vie for Miss Marvel.”
As both the commenters and ComicBook.com have pointed out, Rousey almost certainly isn’t talking about the current Ms. Marvel, Kamala Khan. Instead, she’s probably referring to Danvers, who went by Ms. Marvel for a big chunk of her crime-fighting career.
It’s obvious she’d have the physical side of the character down, but there’s a lot more to Carol besides just punching bad guys (though she does that very well). Would Rousey have the acting chops to pull it off? Let’s say we don’t know yet, as she’s had only relatively small parts in The Expendables 3 and Furious Seven and played herself in Entourage. Also, please don’t tell her I’m doubting her in any way, as I prefer both of my arms to remain in their sockets.
At least one prominent member of the MCU has already signed off on the thought of Ronda Rousey as Carol Danvers though:
A co-sign from Clark Gregg isn’t too shabby. Casting agencies, please take note.
