Conspiracies About Jared Leto’s Joker Keep Mounting

Though we’ve now officially seen him in the Suicide Squad trailer, Jared Leto’s version of the Joker still remains shrouded in mystery. We don’t know exactly what version of the Clown Prince of Crime we’re getting or if he’s something all together new, but we keep getting little nuggets of info that lead to all sorts of wild speculation.

Batman v Superman Easter Eggs and clever teases by Leto on social media have implied that the film may address The Killing Joke and Death in the Family, but many are wondering if these classic tales have a twist behind them. There’s been frequent speculation about this Joker secretly being Dick Grayson or Jason Todd turned mad by the things they’ve experienced, similar to Tim Drake in Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker. Now there’s new fuel for the fire thanks to something odd pointed out by Reddit user DeathbyRequest. Check out this comparison of the Joker still from Suicide Squad and the Robin suit from Batman v Superman.

Are the bullet holes in Robin’s uniform the same place and position as marks on Leto’s Joker? Is he actually one of Batman’s sidekicks gone astray? It’s hard to say, but if done anywhere near correctly it could be a fascinating twist on the tale. The real problems I see are that spy photos from BvS (one the WB forced us to remove months ago) show the gravestone of Dick Grayson, buried on the Wayne Manor grounds. If Grayson had become the Joker, would Bruce keep such a memorial to him? If it were Jason Todd turned evil, why would he have killed someone who isn’t Robin anymore? I mean, that’s odd. I doubt it’s Tim Drake since we know that Dick is likely dead.

This theory is often a stretch, but it still keeps popping up. Until we can completely discredit it, I suppose we’ll just have to keep an open mind.
