Warner Bros. CEO: Delaying Batman v Superman Was Right Move

If things had gone as originally planned, we would’ve already seen Batman v Superman last month, as it was originally scheduled to be released in July of this year. Batman v Superman was of course delayed to Marc of next year, and this left Warner Bros. with a huge 2015 whole that frankly has not been made up with their other movies, but Warner Bros. CEO Kevin Tsujihara says that pushing back the release date for Batman v Superman was a good decision.

"It was a tough decision at the time because it was going to create a hole in 2015,” he says. “But it was absolutely the right decision for the franchise, for DC and the movie. Having seen the movie multiple times, and again last night, I’m extremely confident it was the right decision to make the movie better. And it’s so important for the studio to get the foundation right on DC."

I agree that the foundation for the DC cinematic universe is incredibly important, and if this movie fails, that obviously might wreck their whole grand plan. So let’s hope that pushing it back and fine tuning Batman v Superman a little more made it the movie it really needs to be to get the DC cinematic universe off the ground. Batman v Superman opens in theaters March 25th.
