Margot Robbie was Almost Invisible Woman

I think the general consensus about the casting of Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn in Suicide Squad is that DC Films nailed it. She looks the part, she doesn’t overplay the role (in what we’ve seen so far) and she seems genuinely excited to portray DC’s most popular female character.

Turns out, she almost didn’t even audition.

In a recent interview with NY Daily News Robbie talks about how close she was to playing the Invisible Woman in the poorly conceived, terribly executed Fantastic Four reboot for FOX.

"I didn’t really resonate with the script, and I haven’t seen the movie, so I don’t really know how it turned out different from the page. But I had a great meeting with the director (Josh Trank) and I really enjoyed that.I guess it’s part of the game: Sometime you win some, sometimes you lose some."

Trust me, she won that one.

Robbie also talked about the performance of Jared Leto’s Joker, which has also been a source of controversy among Batman fans.

"What he’s doing with the character is so cool. Actually, I saw him out of makeup once and I was actually petrified of him. I was too scared to go up and didn’t know who that person was, and when he got back into his makeup I was far more comfortable."

That’s hilarious, actually. Fitting for Harley, really.
