How Many DC Movies Is Viola Davis Appearing In?

Viola Davis is “The Wall” Amanda Waller in Suicide Squad. But Amanda Waller has dealings with nearly every corner of the DC universe, so will we see Viola Davis in any more DC universe movies beyond Suicide Squad?

While talking with the New York Times, Viola Davis revealed just how many DC movies she’s signed on for:

"This is my first big superhero movie. I signed on for three, so it needed to be a great experience. This was a role that was just there to be fun. It was a chance to work with Will Smith, you know?"

And how was Viola Davis’ first superhero movie experience? She talked about that a bit with Deadline:

"DC Comics have a tendency to have darker characters. You know, Batman is a darker character, Harley Quinn, the Joker, and what David Ayer has managed to do is humanize them. I think that you see it in the trailer too–just something different about it that makes you lean in. What he’s explored is the pathology behind all of these characters, so you just get that extra spin that gives you the flavor and a look which is very different. And at the same time you get all the stuff that you’ve gotten before, which is the action, the special effects, the great makeup. I’m blown away by the movie. Once I saw the trailer, I was like, “Oh, my God. He really is a magician.” I mean, I had no idea. So, it’s been a real pleasure working on it with David Ayer."

Sounds like Viola Davis did have a great time on her first DC film. What are the other two? Well if Suicide Squad isn’t a success, there might not be a Suicide Squad 2, so we can’t assume it’s that. She could easily be in the Justice League movies that are coming out in a few years. Maybe the Cyborg solo film. There’s a lot of possibilities. She probably won’t be in Aquaman or Wonder Woman I would think. But we’ll see Viola Davis in her first comic film next August when Suicide Squad opens in theaters.
