Pierce Brosnan Turned Down Batman?
It’s hard to thin anybody would ever turn down the role of being one of the greatest superheroes of all time. But hey, everyone’s got their reasons. Maybe you’re not into playing superheroes. Maybe the physical demands of the role are just too much. Maybe you don’t want the responsibility of portraying such an iconic figure. Or maybe you think it’s just a bit silly.

Former James Bond Pierce Brosnan had the opportunity to be Batman. Pierce Brosnan was offered the role by director Tim Burton, but Brosnan amazingly turned the role down:
"It was the beginning of these huge movies, and I just thought, Batman?. Batman held such an indelible place in my own childhood, but I said something flippant to Tim Burton like, ‘Any guy who wears his underpants outside his trousers cannot be taken seriously.’ So, yeah."
Sounds like Pierce Brosnan at least sort of regrets turning down the role that ultimately went to Michal Keaton. Much as I love Keaton in the role, I think Brosnan would’ve been an incredible Batman. But then would he have been James Bond? Maybe he could’ve done both.
