What was supposed to be the event of the summer has now officially turned into the event of the year, though not in the way we’d like as comic book fans. Marvel’s super fun series has now become super long, as Bleeding Cool has discovered that Secret Wars #6 has been delayed yet again.
In case you’re keeping score at home, it was originally supposed to go on sale in August. Then it was pushed back to September 2, then September 16, then September 23. Now it will be in stores on October 7, barring any additional delays.
Before you ask, yes, that will push back the release dates of the final three issues of Secret Wars as well. For now, #7 is coming on October 28, issue #8 on November 25 and the final installment in “late December.” Yikes.
The first of the All-New, All-Different Marvel series are coming on October 7 as well. There’s no real reason for Marvel to delay them, as it doesn’t make much of a difference if they start with two, three or four issues of the story that leads into them still to come.
As for the Secret Wars tie-ins, well, some of them are getting additional delays as well. We’ll update our master list of Secret Wars delays and new release dates when we have all the info.
