Henry Cavill Crashes Awards Show
By Skip Harvey
I didn’t know this was a thing, but The Licensing Awards just happened in London. I think I would have continued to be unaware of the existence of this particular event if it weren’t for the fact that Henry Cavill, AKA Superman, crashed the awards with a sneak preview of Batman v Superman.
"The Licensing Awards have really become accolades to strive for, their integrity is unquestioned as an endorsement of excellence. And the Awards event itself in The Great Room at The Grosvenor House Hotel in London, really will be an extravaganza that befits the dynamism of the industry. In 2014 over 1400 licensors, licensees and retailers attended a truly exciting awards evening that the licensing industry can be really proud of.The Licensing Awards are owned and organised by The Licensing Source Book (published by Max Publishing). The Licensing Awards categories cover all aspects of the UK licensing industry:Retailer Awards – for retailers of licensed merchandiseProduct Awards – for ranges of licensed productsProperty Awards – for specific licensed propertiesMarketing Communication Award – for a specific marketing promotionSpecial Awards – for product innovation, marketing communication and honorary achievement"

Got it? It’s unclear which preview he presented, though I doubt it was a new one. Either way, that’s a pretty sweet surprise. Better than my Hall H experience.
