Israeli actress Gal Gadot is DC’s cinematic Wonder Woman now and she’s champing at the bit to finally bring the character back to the screen. She almost didn’t get the part, however, because she almost played someone else in the DCU.
She was offered the role of General Zod’s female military commander Faora in Man of Steel, but turned it down. This according to an interview she did with Israeli website Xnet.
"When I was a month pregnant with (my daughter) Alma, I got an offer to be the evil Superman characte. If I wasn’t pregnant I’d take the job, and there’s no way they would take me now to be Wonder Woman."
The part went to Antje Traue and was, of course, a dead end. Now Gadot has not only a reoccurring role in a series of franchises, but she’s one of the DC Trinity. Not too shabby.
