Zack Snyder Suggests Batman V Superman Is Man Of Steel 2
By Nick Tylwalk
When Batman gets involved in something, he has a tendency to overshadow everyone. Yes, even Superman can get lost in the shuffle once the Dark Knight shows up.

That has felt like the case more and more with Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice over the last six months or so. Originally described as Man of Steel 2, implying that it was a sequel to the first Henry Cavill Superman movie, it got more and more crowded with other characters as it took shape, and of course, Ben Affleck’s Batman ended up getting top billing. Recent;y, rumors even swirled that Warner Bros. brass wanted more Batman.
But maybe we’ve come full circle on the idea that Batman v Superman is a Man of Steel sequel that just happens to have a lot of other famous heroes and villains along for the ride. I say that because of an interview director Zack Snyder did with Canoe, where he said in no uncertain terms that he sees his latest super hero extravaganza as a follow-up to his previous film.
"I think in a way Batman v Superman is Man of Steel 2. Justice League is kind of the transcendent, knights-of-the-round-table of the story. It’d be interesting to think about what a standalone Superman movie might be."
That doesn’t sound like another solo Superman outing is on Snyder’s mind at all. Superman fans, hopefully you enjoy Batman v Superman and find that the Man of Tomorrow has enough of a chance to shine, because this is still his show. Or at least, as much of one as he’s going to get for the time being.
