Batman Day is coming up this Saturday, September 26, and while we’re sure you already have some plans for this holiday, please allow us to provide you with a few more options to properly celebrate the Dark Knight.

The first one is something you might have anticipated. In honor of Batman Day, DC Comics is having a digital comics sale that started today and runs through September 28. All told, 1,000 different Batman comics are marked down to just $0.99 each. The list of issues includes the current Scott Snyder/Greg Capullo Batman run, all of the weekly Batman Eternal series, Batman: The Long Halloween and Batman: Dark Victory by Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale and many, many more.

On top of that, on Batman Day only, a number of essential Batman graphic novels will be discounted to $3.99 each. Retailers participating in the digital sale include Comixology, Amazon, Google Play, iTunes and iVerse.

The other promotion is a bit more unexpected, unless you automatically associate Batman with cupcakes (and if you do … well, I’m sure there’s a good reason). Sprinkles cupcake bakeries are chipping in with a special Batman Day activation at all locations that will feature special cupcakes themed for the occasion. If you’re in the cosplay mood, Sprinkles stores will give away a free cupcake to the first 100 people dressed as Batman. Because he deserves at least that much for keeping Gotham City safe.

Along with cupcake shops, Batman Day festivities are being held at comic shops, bookstores and libraries all over the country. Make sure to hit the DC Comics blog if you need more details on what’s going on in your area.
