Batman v Superman: Lex Luthor Isn’t Lex Luthor?
Well, this is interesting. In addition to a full “profile article” on Fortune which goes into great detail about the supposed primary antagonist of Batman v Superman, both the article & his recent twitter account reveal that the Lex Luthor in Batman v Superman is not in fact the Lex Luthor that was and most often is Superman’s arch enemy. It is in fact his son, Alexander Luthor Junior.

This Alexander Luthor turned his father’s faltering oil company into a Fortune 500 tech giant, one that’s very interested in military contracts, making him a little more like pre-Iron Man Tony Stark. Alexander Luthor Jr. has played both hero and villain in the DC universe, so it might be interesting to see where they go with this. Of course, this does bring some concern that they are changing a major aspect of the DC universe with no rivalry between Superman & Luthor Sr., but they’ve already messed so much with major DC canon as long as they make this work within the movie universe that Batman v Superman sets up I don’t really see a problem there. We’ll find out for sure when Batman v Superman opens March 25th.
