Batman v Superman: Batman Has One Big Advantage Over Superman…
No matter how you slice it, Batman v Superman seems like an incredibly one-sided fight. Sure Batman is a master tactician and martial artist and has a whole host of weapons and tricks at his disposal. But this is Superman we are talking about. Nigh invulnerable, super fast, can shoot lasers from his eyes. How does Batman even stand a chance in a fair fight? As Batman v Superman director Zack Snyder explains, Batman has no problem fighting dirty:
"The advantage that Batman has is the goodness of Superman. The compliance to fair lay that Superman has… Batman knows how to exploit Superman."
Will this mean that Batman has something Kryptonite-related to help take down the Man of Steel in Batman v Superman? A Kyptonite gun? Kryptonite-laced boots? While it is confirmed that at some point in Batman v Superman, Batman has access to Kryptonite, he’ll still need that Frank Miller-inspired armor to go mano-a-mano with Superman. It should be noted the armor Batman dons in the movie is CGI, with Ben Affleck wearing what he refers to as “visual effects pajamas” that allow him to move much more freely than if he was actually donning some heavy bulky armor.

The “goodness of Superman” comment does make me more optimistic about Batman v Superman. So far the trailers have portrayed them both as dark, brooding heroes, which is not where the conflict between Batman & Superman lies. Superman is the boy scout. He can be a conflicted boy scout, but at the end of the day, he wouldn’t say break someone’s hand just to get information out of them. Batman totally would. That’s where the conflict needs to really come from and if that’s well-portrayed in the film, I’m suddenly much more interested in seeing this movie.
