Ralph Fiennes Cast As Alfred In Lego Batman Movie
Holy evil wizards Batman! Joining Will Arnett, Michael Cera, Zack Galifianakis & Rosario Dawson, Ralph Fiennes (probably best known at this point for his role a Voldemort in the Harry Potter films) has been cast as Bruce Wayne’s sometimes mentor and always faithful servant Alfred Pennyworth in the upcoming Lego Movie spin-off The Lego Batman Movie!
Ralph Fiennes isn’t exactly known for his comedic chops, but much like Liam Neeson as Good Cop/Bad Cop in the original Lego Movie, his background in more serious films such as The English Patient & Schindler’s List could be the basis for a very fun performance. And I’m sure since he Lego Batman Movie is a very screwy comedy, we’re likely to get a very snarky sarcastic Alfred as opposed to a humble butler.

Of course there is the question of just how big Ralph Fiennes role as Alfred in the Lego Batman movie actually is. Alfred can be a huge part of a story or just there for a couple of funny lines. It’s a voice role after all, and these days animated films seem to have no trouble getting notable actors to just perform a line or two for a very brief scene.

We may get a better idea of the exent of Ralph Fiennes role in The Lego Batman Movie once we start getting a better idea of the plot and actually start seeing trailers. We will have a bit of a wait however, as the Lego Batman Movie isn’t due out in theaters until February 2017.
