Charles Roven Talks Batman v Superman

It looks like it’s time that we are finally getting consistent new updates on Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, now less than five months until the premiere of the film.  We already got teased of some new promo art today, and now the entertainment website Collider has sat down with Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice co-producer Charles Roven.  So far they have released two videos from their interview on YouTube.

The first video is the shorter of the two, and Roven speaks about the DC Extended Universe brain trust, which includes him, Geoff Johns, Zack and Deborah Snyder, and John Berg.  He talks about what it’s like to have the kind of control that he does of all the different characters and films that will be part of the DCEU.  Check this video out below:

The second and longer of the videos released focused more specifically on Batman v Superman.  Roven had to evade a good number of the questions that were presented to him, but he did say that we will be getting more footage “very soon”, while hinting it might come in the form of a trailer before Spectre or Star Wars: The Force Awakens.  I was hoping he could answer the question about the duration of the film, but he had to keep his mouth closed regarding that one.  The most intriguing thing he discussed was how they would balance introducing so many new characters to the big screen in one movie:

"I think that the film is called Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, so there’s a reason it’s called [that] and not Dawn of Justice: Batman v Superman.  So you’re gonna invest most in Batman vs. Superman, and I think that you’ll find some other characters in there that you will hopefully want to see more of."

Roven certainly gave us some nice teases of what we have to look forward to.  A lot of the things he couldn’t talk about will probably be revealed in the coming months, so make sure to stay tuned to Caped Crusades for the latest updates.  And of course, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice hits theaters March 25!
