Dr. Who’s Michelle Gomez Joins Gotham

For those of you unfamiliar with actress Michelle Gomez, she is the current regeneration of the Doctor’s arch nemesis the Master.

Now known as Missy, she’s the first instance of a major Timelord to swap sex after regenerating. She joined the cast of Dr. Who in Peter Capaldi’s first season and has already made multiple appearances.

Gomez spoke at the UK’s Dr. Who Celebration this last weekend and revealed her upcoming work and what her commitments to Dr. Who would be, according to Metro.

"I’m doing Gotham at the moment for FOX."

She seemed to imply that her new character, The Lady, would make more than one appearance on the Batman-less FOX series.

So far we’re not exactly sure who The Lady (if that’s the actual character name) is supposed to be on Gotham, but I imagine they’re going to build an arc around her for this season’s ‘Rise of the Villains’ theme. Gomez isn’t letting much slip, but she loves dropping hints.

We do know, however, that she won’t be the only Gotham to Who connection. Sean Pertwee, who plays Alfred on the series, is the son of the legendary John Pertwee who played the 3rd Doctor.

Pertwee was the predecessor to the infamous and beloved Tom Baker so he’s often overlooked. His run on Who was a memorable one, though.

Gomez will make her debut on Monday, November 16th with the episode A Bitter Pill to Swallow.

"Gordon and Barnes continue cleaning up Gotham, and Gordon comes face-to-face with one of the city’s most dangerous hitmen, Eduardo Flamingo (guest star Raul Castillo). Meanwhile, Nygma and Penguin cross paths again, and Bruce pressures Galavan into handing over the name of his parents’ murderer."
