Stay Til The End: Deadpool Will Have Two Post-Credits Scenes

Thanks to some fan events that surprised people with a nearly complete print of Deadpool, a bunch of lucky folks have already seen the movie’s post-credits scene. As it turns out, though, they haven’t seen everything the movie has to offer for people willing to stay until the very, very end.

The fine folks at Heroic Hollywood report that Deadpool will have a second post-credits scene that 20th Century Fox has been holding back for the actual theatrical release. That information comes from a very reliable source too: Rhett Reese, one of the movie’s co-writers.

Here’s what Reese said over the weekend on Twitter:

Interestingly, Jim Vejvoda, Exeutive Editor of Movies for IGN, responded to Reese’s tweet saying that not everyone at IGN saw the same “coda” and wondered if there were multiple versions of the film, but Reese responded and said it was probably just the fact that Vejvoda saw a very early version of the film that accounted for that fact.

Superhero movie fans are well-conditioned by now (thanks Marvel!) to stay in theaters until after the credits just in case. In fact dual tags, one in the middle of the credits and one at the very end, have become the rule as opposed to the exception, so most fans would have discovered the twin Deadpool scenes in opening night just out of habit.

The marketing campaign for Deadpool is absolutely in the stretch run now, as the Merc With a Mouth will be in theaters everywhere on February 12.
