Sometimes the foreign press can get some info on upcoming superhero movies to which the U.S. media just isn’t privy. The latest example of that involves Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and the roles that two of the actors in it might play.
It’s been known for some time that both Jena Malone and Scoot McNairy were in the film, but the mystery was exactly who they were both playing. There have been some fun guesses for both of them, but a French magazine may have let the proverbial cat out of the bag.
Once again, a potential spoiler warning goes here, unless the scan of the magazine acquired by Comic Book Movie turns out to be a fake.
Ready? According to the magazine, Malone will play Barbara Gordon, the original Batgirl. She’s even called by her code name in the magazine, though no one expects to see her in costume in Batman v Superman (as cool as that might be). McNairy is Jimmy Olsen, who should need no introduction except to say that he’s Superman’s pal.
Other interesting tidbits:
- Callan Mulvey, whose role was also undisclosed, is listed as Anatoli Knyazev, a formidable Batman villain called KGBeast.
- Ezra Miller’s appearance as the Flash is described as a cameo, which jibes with earlier reports suggesting the same thing.

Even if this reveal turns out to be the real thing, it remains to be seen how much screen time any of these characters will have in what’s shaping up to be a crowded film — and that’s meant simply as an observation, not a criticism. Hopefully Batman v Superman has room for everyone when it releases in theaters on March 25.
