Is there anything Hayley Atwell can’t do? We’re about to find out in the penultimate episode of Agent Carter Season 2 (and maybe the penultimate episode ever), which looks like it will earn its title, “A Little Song and Dance.”

There really shouldn’t be any time for a musical number for Peggy Carter, what with the battle against Whitney Frost looking increasingly desperate. We also don’t know yet what will happen in episode 8, as Agent Carter is set for another two-hour dose just like last week.

It appears the dancing will come during a dream sequence of some sort, or perhaps a fever dream considering how often Peggy has taken it on the chin this season. The official synopsis for “A Little Song and Dance” mentions that she’ll risk everything to save Jason Wilkes, but the question is whether he even wants to be saved. Check it out:

"Peggy desperately tries to save Dr. Wilkes with a dangerous plan to stop Whitney Frost.  But Thompson makes a surprising move that could destroy them all, on Marvel’s Agent Carter, TUESDAY, February 23 (10:00-11:00 p.m. EST) on the ABC Television Network."

As a fan, I want to believe that Wilkes will stay on the side of the angels even though he appears to be weighing doing something dumb since he understands that Peggy might have feelings for Daniel Sousa. Let’s hope he’s not swayed into villainy out of some misguided mix of love and jealousy.

The Agent Carter writers have done a nice job keeping viewers guessing about where the loyalties of Jack Thompson lie, as he certainly has been conflicted and unsure about who to trust. Alas, this synopsis makes it look like he’ll end up throwing in with the wrong side. If so, he’ll have one last chance to redeem himself before the season ends.
