Gotham: First Look At Grown-Up Poison Ivy
Ivy Pepper certainly is all grown up in this Gotham character portrait
Season 3 of Gotham is just over a month away, and with it we will see plenty of new faces in Gotham. Like Jervis Tetch, the Mad Hatter! Carmine Falcone’s son, Mario! Vickie Vale’s Aunt Valerie! And… Poison Ivy? Wait, but there’s already a Poision Ivy on Gotham. She hasn’t shown up a ton but she’s currently Ivy Pepper and around the same age as Bruce Wayne & Selina Kyle on the show.
Well, for some reason they decided that wasn’t working, and the solution was not just to recast the role, but make her older as well. Here’s the bit from the official synopsis for season 3 of Gotham on just how this magic aging process happens:
"The series also will catch up with the future POISON IVY (Maggie Geha), who, after an encounter with a monster from Indian Hill, finds herself reborn as a young woman who’s harnessed the full power of her charms."
So it sounds like the are going to explore the seductress side of Poison Ivy, but not necessarily the whole control over plant things. At least not to start.

I’ve already been on record thinking this is easily the most ridiculous thing Gotham has set up going into season three. It makes everybody feel bad for Clare Foley, the young actress currently playing Ivy Pepper on the show, who hasn’t been given a ton to do in the first two seasons anyways (but hey you’d figure they give her a chance to shine in later season when she grows more into her villain role, though we didn’t mean so literally). And replacing an established character almost never goes over well, so Maggie Geha will probably be unfairly judged and get an undue amount of hate just for taking the role in the first place. Let’s just hope they really aren’t having her get in a relationship with Bruce Wayne because then it gets really icky. The third season of Gotham starts Monday September 19th on Fox.
