One of the things that fans enjoyed most about 2014’s Guardians of the Galaxy was the 70s infused soundtrack, Awesome Mix Vol. 1. With the catchy tunes and the revelation of a second mixtape at the end of the film, many have been anxiously awaiting the sequel’s complete list of songs. Well, fans won’t have to wait much longer.

James Gunn, director of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, has revealed that the film’s official soundtrack, Awesome Mix Vol. 2 will be available on April 28, 2017. This puts its release date exactly one week before the film opens in theaters.

Gunn announced the news on several of his social media accounts along with a photo of the album’s front cover. As most might know by now, Gunn actually selects each song himself, and later writes them into the screenplay. Judging by the post, it seems that he’s more than excited for us to hear the songs that the new film has to offer:

Right now, only a few tracks such as Sweet’s “Fox on the Run,” Fleetwood Mac’s “The Chain” and Jay and The Americans’ “Come a Little Bit Closer” are known to the public. With such a solid line-up so far, this could be shaping up to be another hit album.

Awesome Mix Vol. 1 reached #1 on the Billboard 200 chart back in 2014, and eventually became the first soundtrack album to perform this feat with a track listing comprised solely of previously released music. The album later became certified platinum.

Fans still have a few more weeks until they can get their hands on these songs, but based on what we’ve seen so far, it should be worth the wait.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 arrives in theaters on May 5, 2017.
