It looks like Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 could be headed for a huge opening weekend!

Deadline has released the early tracking data for the film. According to the report, the movie currently has enough momentum to earn $150 million during its opening weekend. It is also possible that the film could reach Captain America Civil War’s $179.1 million total.

In addition to providing box office numbers, the report also revealed that the film’s total awareness is at 88%. Meanwhile, definite interest currently sits at 68%, while its firsts choice rating is holding at 28%.

This really shouldn’t surprise anyone. Guardians of the Galaxy was a surprise hit when it debuted back in 2014, and now that people are familiar with the franchise, it makes sense that the projections would be larger.  Also, let’s not forget that the Marvel brand is incredibly strong right now.

Still, it will be interesting to see if these figures actually hold up. Judging by Marvel Studios’ track record over the last several years, the idea of the numbers holding steady seems very plausible.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 will blast its way into theaters on May 5, 2017.
