By Idrees Khan
Dragon Ball Super Episode 88 synopsis hints a new transformation for Gohan.
With Dragon Ball Super now well into its fifth saga, we have yet to see Gohan reach his full potential. In the first saga, the half-Saiyan stated that he was out of the fight game. When Gohan confronted Frieza in the Golden Frieza saga, his lack of fighting experience was his downfall. Frieza easily defeated him, showing us just how weak Gohan had gotten.

Recognizing this, Gohan opted to start training again. Due to this, he was noticeably absent in the recent sagas. He’s made brief appearances, but has yet to make an impact on the story.
The Universal Survival Saga has seen more of Gohan’s development. The character had fought Universe 9’s Lavender in Episode 80. He held his own and gave an impressive performance. But he was not satisfied, opting to return to train with Piccolo.
Well, it appears this decision may benefit Gohan greatly. In the synopsis for Dragon Ball Super’s 88th episode, we will get an in-depth look at Piccolo’s training regime for Gohan. The synopsis even hints towards a new power-up transformation for Gohan:
"“It’s essential for Gohan to make a comeback in order for Universe 7 to claim victory at the Tournament of Power! His martial arts master Piccolo aims to sharpen Gohan’s faded skills through one-on-one training, and tries to bring even more power out of him than he had in the past. And the result is…?!”"
The Omni-Kings have stated that the losing universes in the Tournament of Power will be eliminated. With such high stakes, now is a better time than ever for Gohan’s potential to truly emerge. As a married man with a daughter, he certainly has a lot to fight for. And let’s not forget he still has a lot of Saiyan pride.

Perhaps we may see him return to this form in time for the Tournament of Power. Either way, it’s an exciting time for Gohan fans. We may finally see the character reach his full potential.
