Preview: Venom #150 From Marvel
By D. Goodman
Marvel Comics has released a preview of the upcoming Venom #150 anniversary issue, which sees the return of Eddie Brock.
By now most comic book readers are aware that Marvel plans to return at least some of their titles to their original, or legacy, numbering. Series like Captain America, Incredible Hulk and Thor will quite suddenly go from a very low number to a very high number.
Call it blowback from too many relaunches or just readers who miss the sense or history and tradition that high issue numbers meant, but Marvel has heard you and original numbering is on its way to a comic shop near you.
I just never thought that Venom would be the first title to make the change.
But that is exactly the case as next month Venom will celebrate issue #150 with a giant-sized extravaganza.
Yes. According to the Marvel math, if you add up all the various Venom miniseries, monthlies and so forth, Venom has been running for 150 issues. Not bad for a wannabe Spider-Man who worked way better when he was a member of Spidey’s rogues gallery than he ever did as some weird anti-hero.

To celebrate the occasion, readers will get the return of Eddie Brock as the one, true Venom in a extra-long main story by writer Mike Costa and guest artist Tradd Moore. Eddie made his big comeback last issue, but with #150 we really get to celebrate the occasion and see where things go from here.
In addition, the book will also include a pair of backups. The first will feature Flash Thompson and will be by the Venom: Space Knight team of Robbie Thompson and Gerardo Sandoval. The second will be sure to get older fans such as myself way more excited as we see David Michelinie and Ron Lim reunite to tell a story set during Venom: Lethal Protector, the very first Venom miniseries from way back when.
If you’re a fan of everyone’s favorite symbiote, it sure looks like Venom #150 has just about anything you could ask for.
From the Marvel solicitation:
"Reunited, and it feels so good! Or, is it bad? Either way you swing it, Eddie Brock is back, and he’s bonding with the symbiote once more in May’s can’t-miss VENOM #150 – the oversized anniversary issue! Series writer Mike Costa is joined by superstar guest artist Tradd Moore for an extended main story featuring Eddie’s return to the pages of Venom. Bonded together again, Eddie and the symbiote are web-slinging their way across New York City. But, is their relationship as harmonious as it once was? Or is their bond more sinister than ever?"
