The latest episode of Dragon Ball Super may have teased the female Legendary Super Saiyan.

For years now, fans have urged Akira Toriyama to introduce Broly into a canon storyline. The character was introduced in the non-canon movie Dragon Ball Z: Broly The Legendary Super Saiyan. Since then, he has been immensely popular among fans. This is mostly due to his incredible power.

The Legendary Super Saiyan form is legendary for a reason. It is a unique and very rare form—separate from the normal Super Saiyan evolution. And it appears we may see this form introduced in Dragon Ball Super very soon.

In the latest episode of Dragon Ball Super, there was a brief mention of a new character—Caulifa. Universe 6’s Cabba went to visit former Defense Squad Captain Renso to persuade him to participate in the Tournament of Power. Renso requested to take his sister Caulifa instead. She was briefly seen eating some meat and surrounded by goons.

Many fans jumped to the conclusion that she is the female Broly. One key reason being the name. Akira Toriyama is known to name Saiyans after vegetables, and Caulifa sounds a lot like “cauliflower.” Cauliflower is commonly used with broccoli—the vegetable which Broly’s name is based on. Fans used this to put two and two together.

Her personality, however, is different from Broly’s. In the episode, she was described as wild and brash. Whereas Broly was a more peaceful Saiyan at first. This could perhaps indicate that she is feeling the effects of the Legendary Super Saiyan power. Broly himself was unable to control his rage once his powers manifested.

The introduction of Caulifa is exciting for many reasons. She would be the first female Super Saiyan in Dragon Ball history. And the Legendary Super Saiyan form may become canon.
