Since being announced as the new Spider-Man, Tom Holland has not only proven that he can play the character, but that he is also a big comic book fan. Recently, he even helped to promote Free Comic Book Day. He is also a lifelong fan of Spider-Man, and as such, he already has some ideas about who the wall-crawler should face in his next film.
While speaking with the Brazilian pop culture site CinePop, Holland revealed which members of Spider-Man’s rogues gallery he would like to see in the future. He also mentioned two picks that are sure to be very intriguing to fans:
"“There’s so many good villains, I really like Mysterio, I like Kraven. I really like the “Clone Saga.” I think it could be really cool if Peter, or Spider-Man has to fight people with the same powers as him. Spider Woman’s super cool. … I think she’s called Spider-Girl, who is his clone. They kind of like hit it off and they take their masks off and they’re like… [shocked look] What the hell! They’re like the same person, but she’s just a girl. I think that’s really cool.”"
Admittedly, the “Clone Saga” might be a little too ambitious for a sequel, but it would definitely be cool to see somewhere down the line, especially if both Spider-Woman and Spider-Girl are involved. As for Mysterio and Kraven, they are absolutely prime candidates. Coincidentally, many fans (including myself) have wanted to see these particular characters get the cinematic treatment for a while now.

The two could undoubtedly be entertaining villains, and there is certainly fan appeal. But at the end of the day, only the folks at Marvel Studios and Sony can decide who antagonizes our friendly neighborhood Spider-Man next.
The character’s first solo MCU outing, Spider-Man: Homecoming, hits theaters on July 7, 2017.
