Marvel Studios has been very successful with their film franchises within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, a number of fans would still like to see characters like the X-Men and the Fantastic Four cross paths with the Avengers and Doctor Strange. And Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige feels the same way.

Feige recently spoke with Perception (via ScreenRant) and talked about the fact that the studio was able to bring Spider-Man into the MCU, and their ability in uniting so many characters in Avengers: Infinity War. Although he did not promise anything, he did express his hope that they can one day bring back the characters that they don’t own:

"“Yes, of course! My goal is to replicate the experience that comic book fans have reading the books up on the screen and we’ve been able to accomplish that beyond my wildest dreams over the last ten years. And certainly, including Spidey in Civil War, in the upcoming Infinity War, is yet another dream that I didn’t even dare to talk about publicly because I thought the odds of it were very slim. So, no plans beyond that for the few remaining characters that aren’t already in the MCU but never say never. Who knows what can happen in the future?”"

Feige hasn’t publicly gone out of his way to pursue the characters, but the fact that he definitely wants them back is a great. And, to be honest, the idea of it happening isn’t as far-fetched as it sounds. As he said, the Spider-Man agreement seemed out of reach, but both studios made it happen. And, if the deal ultimately proves to be fruitful, it could entice a studio like Fox to partner with Marvel on future films.

Admittedly, this is just a lot of wishful thinking on my part, and even if it does happen, it won’t be anytime soon. Still, there’s always a chance. And this April Fools’ prank might come true.
