Tom Holland has provided some very direct thoughts on the possibility of Venom appearing in the MCU.

Amy Pascal sent shock waves throughout the internet after she stated that the Venom, Black Cat, and Silver Sable spin-offs would exist alongside Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This came as a surprise to fans (and evidently Kevin Feige), as it had been previously reported that the films would exist apart from the MCU. Well, franchise star Tom Holland has now provided his take on the matter—and, disappointingly, it doesn’t sound like the former.

In an interview with ComicBook.com, Holland stated that he does not believe that Venom will ever appear in a Spider-Man movie:

"Everyone’s asking this question, man. It’s never happening. There are so many. I’m so excited to explore new villains. I want to see people we haven’t seen before because Spider-Man, of all characters, probably has the most villains and it only makes sense to explore new ones."

Holland sounds pretty sure of himself, but, as he’s mentioned, he doesn’t have the final say. His thoughts do echo the aforementioned reports of the two worlds being separate.

Although many undoubtedly want to see Venom in the MCU, it may be in the franchise’s best interest if they don’t intersect. It’s also hard to argue with Holland’s point that his web-slinger should face villains that have never been seen in films.

It’s honestly difficult to say if this is truly set in stone, but one thing that can be said for sure is that anything is possible in the world of movies and superheroes.
