Dragon Ball Super episode 104 recap and review: “Universal Survival Saga: A Faster Than Light Battle Begins! Goku and Hit’s Joint Front!!”
By Idrees Khan
Dragon Ball Super’s Episode 104 saw the return of the Super Saiyan God form and the epic team up of Goku and Hit.
Dragon Ball Super‘s “Universal Survival Saga” focuses on the Tournament of Power. The tournament involves eight out of the twelve existing universes. Ten of the strongest in each universe will fight in a “Battle Royale” style match. The losing universes will be eliminated by the Omni-Kings.
In the previous episode, we saw Gohan and Piccolo challenge Universe 10’s remaining warriors. After an epic fight, both Piccolo and Gohan managed to eliminate the two Universe 10 warriors. This caused the whole universe to be annihilated. Gohan saw a picture of the family of a Universe 10 competitor and the circumstances of the tournament began to sink in.

The episode began with Hit and Universe 11’s Dyspo squaring off. The two begin to fight and Dyspo has the upper hand. Hit’s time skip seems to be useless as Dyspo is able to counter it well. It is revealed that Dyspo has super speed, and this is why he can easily land attacks on Hit.
Dyspo is also able to predict when Hit is going to use the time skip by listening to the sounds of his muscles. For a moment, it seems as though Hit would be eliminated. But before Dyspo does his final move, Hit uses an inter dimensional technique. Dyspo’s momentum pushes him off the fighting stage, but before he could fall, his teammate Kunshi saves him using ropes from his palms.
Kunshi and Dyspo decide to team up against Hit. Caulifla wants to join in and help, but Kale advises her against it. Before she can jump in, the fight is interrupted by Goku in his original Super Saiyan God form. We have not seen this form since his fight with Beerus.
Now the odds are even, SSG Goku and Hit fight Dyspo and Kunshi. The two teams have a great fight where they showcased their skills. Hit manages to hit (pun intended) Kunshi with his punch/shockwave technique. After a while, Hit manages to eliminate Kunshi. This leaves only three fighters left in Universe 11 — Dyspo, Toppo and Jiren.
The episode ends with Hit and Goku anticipating meeting each other later in the tournament. There are now 35 minutes left in the Tournament of Power.

Thoughts on the Episode
Overall, this was a good episode. This was the first tense installment we have seen in quite a while. The highlight was definitely seeing Universe 11’s warriors at their best. Dyspo showed an impressive performance, which makes us wonder just how good Toppo and Jiren could be. And with Goku and Hit teasing a rematch, the Tournament of Power only looks to get better.
