Kevin Feige is not ruling out bringing a female Thor to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Over the past nine years, audiences have seen some interesting things in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. They’ve seen a walking tree and a gun-toting raccoon fight side by side, as well as a surgeon, become an interdimensional sorcerer. Despite this, there are a number of things that people still haven’t such as a female Thor. And, according to Marvel Studios’ head Kevin Feige, it could definitely happen.

In an interview with Movies.com, Feige was asked about the possibility of a female Thor film and said that there is potential for it:

"“We always look back to the comics to get those ideas … sometimes very specific storylines like “Civil War,” sometimes just nuggets or characters like “Planet Hulk.” So anything that’s happened in the comics, even a female Thor, become great potentials and the ideas from which future movies can be born.”"

With the MCU having been around so long, viewers are constantly craving new material in the growing cinematic franchise. Jane Foster’s version of the God of Thunder would definitely be a refreshing addition. Even Thor: Ragnarok actor, Karl Urban expressed interest in seeing the character on the big screen.

A female Thor is only one of a vast number of possibilities for the Marvel Studios films. For instance, through Spider-Man: Homecoming, we now know that future Spider-Man, Miles Morales does in fact exist in this universe. In theory, after Tom Holland decides to hang up his webs, Miles would be a prime character to bring in.

Letitia Wright’s Shuri from Black Panther also has serious potential. Comic fans undoubtedly know that she eventually takes on the mantle of the Black Panther. Wright is a young actress, and could grow in the role before becoming the titular hero.
