DCEU has the heroes for these diverse movie genres
Fantasy – Shazam!
Anytime you have teens, magic, and a little comedy that’s a recipe for a fantasy movie. That’s exactly what the DCEU has with their upcoming superhero flick. Shazam follows the origin story of Billy Batson, an orphaned teen who turns into an adult superhero once he utters the word Shazam. The film stars Asher Angel as Billy and Zachary Levi, and is expected to be released in 2019.
While not much is known about the film, but rumors suggest that Billy will be tasked with fighting off magic creatures known as the Seven Deadly Enemies of Man — Pride, Envy, Greed, Anger, Sloth, Gluttony, and Lust. Light’s Out director David Sandberg will get a chance to tackle the fantasy genre in the form of a DC superhero.

With the DCEU still carving out their identity, it appears they might be headed in the right direction. Like Miller said, the exciting thing about the DCEU is the diversity that their films can provide and they have the heroes to do it. We’ll just have to patiently wait and see which genre’s the studio plans to tackle.
