Supergirl

1. The Superman fight

There was a big change to Supergirl this season when production moved from LA to Vancouver alongside the rest of the Arrowverse. While this allowed the show to crossover more smoothly with the rest of the universe, it wasn’t the best thing about season 2. It was announced during the summer that Superman would be joining the Girl of Steel for a couple of guest appearances, and Tyler Hoechlin’s performance certainly didn’t disappoint.

This was particularly demonstrated during the season 2 finale when a Silver Kryptonite affected Superman battled his cousin. It’s fair to say that it’s sometimes difficult to show the full extent of Kara’s powers with a TV budget, but this particular fight scene didn’t disappoint in demonstrating just how powerful each of these characters is.

2. Reign reveals herself

One area that Supergirl has needed to improve on is the villains. Unlike Arrow‘s Deathstroke and The Flash‘s Reverse Flash, there’s yet to be that one iconic villain for the Girl of Steel, which is exactly why the writers have made a conscious decision to build a different kind of villain in Reign.

We met her in the season 3 premiere as Sam Arias, the single mother of a huge Supergirl fan, but it quickly became apparent that there was more to her than meets the eye. As the season progressed, we learned more and more about her until, eventually, Reign was unleashed in the midseason finale. The moment she came face-to-face with Kara was a highlight that truly showed just how formidable Reign will be.
