1. Cancel Joker and Harley Quinn for ‘Mad Love’

It’s been reported that Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn solo movie would be developed in a Joker and Harley Quinn love story.  Fans weren’t exactly thrilled at the idea of having a Joker/Harley Quinn love story told on the big screen and understandably so. Nothing about Joker and Harley’s story is one that inspires any romance they are no Mr. and Mrs. Smith. The facts are, Joker was emotionally and physically abusive to Harley even beating her within an inch of her life.

What made Harley Quinn the anti-hero we love today was her emancipation from her former lover. What Hamada should do is scrap this whole love story idea and adopt Batman: Mad Love to the big screen. By doing so fans will get to see two sides of Harley Quinn, the woman head over hills in love with a serial killer and the Harley that finds herself after realizing she doesn’t need him.

The person that helps Harley is none other than Poison Ivy. The superpowered supervillain takes Harley under her wing and together they set out on an adventure which sees Harley face off against Joker head-to-head. Not only does Ivy mentor Harley and help her become an independent woman, but she gives her strength, literally, by injecting her with a serum that grants her superhuman abilities.  Even if they don’t go super Harley, the story of two women taking on the world could turn into a superhero Thelma & Louise and another DCEU classic.

The DCEU has started off rocky and it appears that Warner Bros have finally gotten the message, The canceling of Deadshot and Lobo should serve as a positive sign especially with movies like Man of Steel 2 and Black Adam looming. However, Hamada should really consider tapping into the wide variety of characters that DC Comics has to offer like Green Arrow, Booster Gold, Martian Manhunter and many more. There are too many characters that need to be explored and some that don’t.
