4. Women of Wakanda

When reading Black Panther, the one thing that always stuck out, were the women of Wakanda. T’Challa was a tough dude, but he was still a king. Since he was so important, he had bodyguards called the Dora Milaje. These women were the best of the best. They’ve taken out hordes of ninjas, The Black Widow, and cut a giant Sentinel in half. The women of Wakanda are not only tough, they’re smart. T’Challa’s mother in law Ramanda is one of the wisest people in the country. While she may be royalty, her opinion is valued because she knows how to separate what is right for the country and where her personal interests lie.

It’s important that the women looked at as more than just strong physically. They also must be strong mentally. The women of Wakanda are the backbone of the country. They don’t sit home and clean. They are equal partners to the men or women they are with. It also isn’t a necessity for them to be with someone because society dictates it. Just like Wonder Woman last year, it’s imperative that the women are looked at for more than just their looks. They are some of the toughest warriors and the smartest people in the world.
