1. The story of Vanessa and Wade

An underrated part of the first Deadpool movie was the romance between Vanessa and Wade. Despite all the jokes and the killing, this was a love story. Well, Deadpool did say that in the beginning of the movie. But some people may have forgotten that Vanessa and Wade’s relationship was a big part of the movie.

If not for Vanessa, Wade wouldn’t have received a treatment to cure his cancer in the movie. Even if he did, he wouldn’t have fought so hard when he was being experimented on. Vanessa is everything to Wade and she needs to remain a major part of this franchise. In the trailer, we see Vanessa telling Deadpool to save the kid Cable was going to kill. Without her, Deadpool might be lost. She keeps him centered. There’s also the fact that, his crazy matches her crazy.

In the comic books, Vanessa and Wade broke up and it wasn’t pretty. They physically fought, saved each other, and repeat the cycle. In the end, Sabretooth ended up killing her and she died in Deadpool’s arms. I don’t see their relationship finishing with a happy ending. Even if it doesn’t Vanessa made a very good antagonist for Deadpool in the movie.
