1. Luke Evans

Luke Evans, shares something with Hugh Jackman, they both can claim the title as multitalented actors. Like Jackman, Evans knows no bounds, he can sing with the best of them, just ask James Corden and Usher. Of course, playing Wolverine doesn’t require one to have a harmonious voice. So other than the frame and look that lends itself to the X-Men, Evans can really act. In Fast and Furious 6 he played a villainous role, one that arguably the best of the series.

His most recent performance as Gatson, in Beauty and the Beast saw him bring in another memorably convincing performance as the Beast-hating hunter who was looking for Belle’s hand in marriage. While playing a bad guy is a quality that adds depth as to how he can capture the aggressive rabid nature of Wolverine it’s the role in Dracula that makes him a hero. In Dracula we saw a man become immortal in an effort to save his town, he was tortured, broken, and captivating as the worlds most famous vampire.

At 38, he’s ideally suited for a more seasoned Wolverine, one much like Hugh Jackman’s version was in the X-Men Universe before his curtain call in Logan. If they want to continue to exploit Wolverine with solo movies or buddy films with Hulk or Spider-Man they could  because they have a guy in Evans who is destined to carry a franchise.

The prospect of having Wolverine join the MCU is an exciting one. While Tom Hardy looks to be locked up as Venom, hopefully for the foreseeable future — there are plenty of actors who would kill to play the role of Wolverine. Unfortunately, there can only be one and with so many quality actors, there’s no doubt that Disney will select the right guy. Fortunately for them we have them a really dope shortlist. So, who do you think will make a great Wolverine for the MCU?
