1. Eric LaRay Harvey as Willis Stryker (Diamondback)

In the beginning of Netflix’s Luke Cage, Mahershala Ali played the perfect villain for Luke Cage, Cornell “Cottonmouth” Stokes. Cottonmouth challenged Luke Cage to become more than just a guy who hits people. He made Cage think instead of just reacting. After Cottonmouth died, Luke’s antagonist was his brother Willis “Diamondback” Stryker. Eric LaRay’s job was to be crazy, tough, and challenge Luke physically. He failed at all of this.

LaRay was groan worthy whenever he was on screen. At times it was embarrassing to watch. His, “Can you dig it” moment was atrocious, his attempt at playing crazy was terrible, and when he went on rants he was deplorable. It was all topped off by a final fight scene may have been the worst to appear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. There was nothing redeemable about him. The worst part is he’s probably going to be back at some point.

Diamondback should never return to Netflix’s Luke Cage. Just his name is enough to take the show down. People can say what they will about Finn Jones as Danny Rand, but at least his character worked well when he was paired with Cage. Diamondback is not salvageable because Eric LaRay was just awful. He ruined the character. Even changing the actor wouldn’t work.
