4. The Cable and Deadpool bromance

You’d figure that two guys that spend a lot of time fighting and trying to kill each other would hate each other. For a while, they did. The first time Cable and Deadpool met, Deadpool was attacking his teammates and trying to kill Cable.

The two spent years attacking each other until one day, they talked. Deadpool and Cable never realized that they have one thing in common. They’re both tortured souls. Deadpool called himself the garbageman that the world needs and Cable replied, “No one thanks the garbage men, Wilson…It’s part of the job. But everyone still needs us. Without us…the world drowns”

They didn’t exactly become friends then. It wasn’t until Cable tried to sacrifice himself to save the world. Deadpool believed in Cable’s cause and did his best to help him. They became best friends. Cable helped Deadpool do his best not to slip back into old habits of taking any job that paid him. Cable was instrumental in making Deadpool a better person. Deadpool is one of the reasons why Hope didn’t die the day she was born. The two ended up helping each other for years.

Like every relationship Deadpool’s had, this one ended badly. Deadpool had a debt to Cable’s clone Stryfe. In order to pay off this debt, he had to kill Cable and bring Stryfe his heart. Deadpool told Cable that he planted a bomb that would kill Hope. Cable left to find the bomb (if it exists) and told Deadpool that the next time he sees him, he’s going to kill him.
