2. Meeting Agent Preston

The dead United States presidents were resurrected and came back evil. Seeing Steve Rogers de-CAP-itate (see what I did there) a former U.S. President isn’t the kind of press that will make Avengers look good. S.H.I.E.L.D.’s Agent Emily Preston was charged with finding someone to take care of this problem. She needed someone that could take them without ruining their reputation. After Deadpool killed Franklin Roosevelt, he became the perfect person to get the job done.

Preston ended up getting close to Deadpool. After killing most of the un-dead presidents, it seemed like Preston made the right decision. Soon after, Preston was killed by George Washington. Before her soul could go into the afterlife, a necromancer named Michael Hawthorne (who resurrected them in the first place) transferred Preston’s soul into Deadpool’s mind. This ended up being the best thing that happened to Deadpool.

Meeting Preston made Wade feel like he could be more than he’s been. He stopped believing that everything he touched turned to crap. He even ended up becoming a family man and did his best to raise his daughter. For once in his life, Wade was happy. He finally got everything he wanted. Unfortunately, happiness doesn’t last with Deadpool. What makes this so important wasn’t just the happiness he gained, it was also the experience of losing it and then how he reacted to the loss.
