Daisy Ridley

Although Daisy Ridley is an up and coming actress, she doesn’t bring that same fresh face feel as some of our other actress. In fact, her name comes with a huge following thanks to her claim to fame in Star Wars: The Force Awakens where she was the shining star despite the loaded cast.

Ridley was believable as an action star and was talented enough to make people droll over her performance. The movie went on to break box office records earning Ridley instant notoriety. Ridley’s performance earned the respect and critics alike. Rey was a lightsaber-wielding Jedi who doesn’t rely on a male character to get her out of bad situations.

While Star Wars earned Ridley her popularity, her roles in movies like Murder on the Orient Express proved she doesn’t have to the main attraction to shine. Additionally, as the star in Ophelia, Ridley tapped into her dramatic side and showed off her versatility. Ridley’s skills and acting talent would be a great fit for any version of Barbra Gordon. However, we’d definitely like to see her play a more charismatic fun version of the character.

Rose Leslie

If Birds of Prey is looking to cast someone in their mid to late 20s, Rose Leslie would make sense. She’s a name that’s been unofficially attached to Barbara Gordon for a while, and it makes sense. The 31-year-old actress is known for her roles in Downton Abbey and of course Game of Thrones as Ygritte.

In GoT her character was a badass savage with a domineering personality. In movies like Honeymoon, Last Witch Hunter, and Morgan we saw her kill it on the big screen. With her resume and look, the Scottish actress is an ideal fit for a somewhat tortured Barbara with a chip on her shoulder still adjusting to being in a wheelchair.

Still, it doesn’t mean Leslie isn’t ready to squeeze into the spandex and kick ass. Yan could look to cast a more mature version of Barbara who is both liberated and angry. Who knows, maybe the studio would think scout casting Kit Harrington as their Nightwing and we’ll get to see their amazing chemistry on the big screen.
