2.  X-Men-Avengers crossover

Imagine what Civil War would have been like if the Avengers were allowed to use the X-Men. We got a glimpse of what could be when Disney introduced Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) and Quicksilver (Aaron Taylor Johnson) into the fold. As we know, they weren’t mutants instead, they were a product of HYDRA. Nevertheless, we knew who they were— they were X-Men, technically Brotherhood but you get.

It killed us to watch them fight against Ultron without the others. We secretly hoped that maybe Fox and Disney would partner up like Sony did — that didn’t happen. So we watched Scarlet Witch go on to fight in Civil War and Infinity War as the lone (non) X-Men. That’s all over with now that the X-Men franchise belongs to Disney. But, there’s no need to force the X-Men into an Avengers storyline. Kevin Feige should stick to what he said to The Playlist when the merger was just a rumor.

"“[X-Men] won’t impact the five movies we’ve announced, and it probably wouldn’t impact anything for a handful of years after that.”"

The X-Men must get their own Disney treatment and established as its own entity. While very much part of Marvel, the X-Men always felt like a world within a world. The MCU has a long-standing linear plot that will ultimately cultivate with Avengers 4, which could also serve as a way to backdoor the X-Men. Still, we should be patient and allow the next phase of Marvel to happen. Then we can revisit the possibility of an X-Men Avenger crossover at a later date.
