Supergirl is headed to the DCEU: 10 actresses who can play her

6. Peyton List 

Breaking out of the Disney shadow, one of Peyton List starring roles came in The Thinning. The YouTube Red exclusive saw List shine as the leading protagonist in a film where the United States uses a text to weed out their inferior intellects. It’s a movie that becomes a fight for survival in a dystopian world.

List has a few movies coming out that will continue to show how talented she is; Departures, Valley Girl, and Anthem. Moreover, List has the look and potential to an excellent Kara. She’s only 20-years old with a lot of untapped potential and could become breakout star as Supergirl.  

5. Kathryn Newton 

Newton is an up and coming talented actress who has shown that she’s ready to breakout. Her first feature film was in 2011’s comedy, Bad Teacher where she played Chase Rubin Russi. The following year she played the leading role in the fourth installment of the Paranormal Activity franchise.  As Alex, she was the character who recorded the strange occurrences after a strange family moves in across the street.

However, her breakout role came in 2018 in the laugh out loud critically acclaimed comedy, Blockers. Newton played one of the three teenage girls who made a pact to lose their virginity on prom night. She was an absolute star in Blockers, her character was strong, funny, and sensible all the things you’d want in Kara. Newton has an upcoming movie Detective Pikachu, alongside Ryan Reynolds and Suki Waterhouse.
