3. Man of Steel Prequel comic would make a great movie

The destruction of Krypton has been well documented and told repeatedly. We don’t need another movie that shows it’s destruction, Man of Steel did a fantastic job telling that story. Oren Uziel and the DCEU has an opportunity to tell the story of Krypton from a different perspective. Moreover, it doesn’t have to show Kara with powers until the end of the comics. Instead, Uziel can feature a movie about a young woman willing to what it takes to save her planet and her friends.

The MoS prequel comic follows Kara’s journey as an Explorer Guild trainee. She wanted to be one of the few to travel the universe to terraform worlds in an effort to build a new Krypton. The select few will pilot ships were stored Kryptonian embryos are kept. There’s also a Codex that allows these embryos to be kept in stasis until they are full-grown. Kara journey, and essentially the movie will start on Krypton.

During a training session, another trainee, Dev-Em kills Kara’s boyfriend Kell-Ur to increase his chances of being chosen. Kara finds out and defeats Dev-Em Ben and he’s sentenced to death. Kara excels and graduates as the commanding pilot of the scout ships. Kara and her team slept in their hibernated pods.

After many years, Kara awakes to an empty ship, her team is dead thanks to Dev-Em. It’s revealed that some council members thought death was too savage so they stowed Dev-Em on Kara’s ship. Dev-Em alters the course to Earth’s solar system. They battle with where their new-found powers courtesy of the yellow sun. This ship crash lands on earth and the status of the two Kryptonians are unknown.

The comic shows an Inuit ancient tribe drawing the ship wreckage and the S symbol. It then cuts thousands of years, the present day where a distress signal catches the attention of Canadian soldiers. It also shows Clark Kent working on the Alaskan fishing boat, a scene we see in the Man of Steel movie.

With some tweaks and Uziel’s creativity, this story could be a deep emotionally rooted story during a tragic time. Moreover, it’s would aid in a heroic tale that would once again put a heroine in the forefront.
