Iron Fist season 2: The good and the bad
By Mark Lynch
The Good: The MVP, Mary Walker
Mary Walker was easily the MVP of Iron Fist season 2. First, Alice Eve was amazing. She managed to play two distinct characters and found a way to make certain the viewers knew which identity was in control. When she was Mary, her voice was a little higher, she was perky and seemed innocent. Walker, on the other hand, looked sad. You could tell she had been through a lot. She even moved more aggressively. And, this was all when she wasn’t fighting. There’s also her “Bloody” personality that was mentioned later in the season. If this is her Bloody Mary persona from the comics, then we are going to witness a whole new level of brutality from Mary.
Of everyone in this season, Mary has the most promising future. Mary could move into any of the Netflix shows and stand out. She is as skilled as Punisher with a gun, she has the fighting skills to go up against Daredevil (she’s actually a Daredevil villain) and the detective skills to get under Jessica Jones’ skin. I fully expect to see more of her in the future, and it could be sooner than we think, especially since she worked for Wilson Fisk in the comics.
