3. The Death of Elektra

Another great character introduced to the show in season two was Elektra, played by Elodie Yung. The Greek anti-heroine was an important and crucial part of Matt Murdock’s upbringing with Stick, so it’s not surprising that she had some of the best scenes in the entire season. From her early training days with The Chaste, to her college days with Matt, to her present day status as an assassin, Elektra was truly an intriguing character.

For Matt, she was more than just a friend. The two’s long history together essentially made them inseparable and their love story made up for one of the most genuine in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end.

Elektra and Matt were facing off against the Hand in the epic season two finale. By now the Hand had the upper hand and the evil ninja Nobu had Daredevil in a tight spot. In an instant, Nobu delivered the final blow that took Elektra’s life. Her death was unexpected and brilliantly executed, making it one of the best moments in the entire series.

Elektra didn’t stay dead for long, though, as she eventually came back in the first season of The Defenders.
