Gotham season 5 trailer finally unveils Batman
The Dark Knight finally makes his long-awaited debut in the latest trailer for Gotham’s final season.
After a lengthy hiatus, Gotham recently returned to Fox for the debut of its fifth and final season. It was an explosive premiere that highlighted just how bad conditions had gotten in the city, as the TV show’s adaptation of the iconic “No Man’s Land” arc continued, with the GCPD struggling to hold off the Penguin, Scarecrow and the Sirens (along with their respective armies). In the end, one character fell, as another teased their return. But one thing was clearer than anything: Gotham needs a hero.
If you thought the first episode was game-changing, you haven’t seen anything yet. Instead of the usual episodic promo that would preview the next episode in the season, Gotham has unveiled a longer clip, previewing some of the crazy things to come from the show’s final offering. From the trailer, it’s clear the best is yet to come from what is sure to be a monumental season for Gotham. But before the show comes to an end, we’ll see the rise of Bane, the return of Jeremiah Valeska and Selina Kyle regain the power to walk, as an all-out war breaks out for Gotham’s soul. However, it also finally gives us our first glimpse of the one person who may be able to save the city’s soul — Batman.
The closing moments of the trailer show the Dark Knight’s silhouette, as the figure disappears into the smoke, confirming that Bruce Wayne will make that transition into the iconic hero that we have been waiting to see take place for almost five years.
Fear not Gotham, Batman is coming.
