Official synopsis for Avengers: Endgame released by Marvel

Marvel Studios has dropped an official synopsis for Avengers: Endgame along with a new TV spot.

Have you had your dose of Brie Larson yet? Well have no fear, because the most-anticipated film of 2019 is coming around the corner. Marvel released an official synopsis for their latest film, Avengers: Endgame.

Once again, Joe and Anthony Russo return to helm their fourth serving of blockbuster spectacle starting with Captain America: Winter Soldier, as told by Captain America trilogy scribes and producers, Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely. The synopsis is as follows:

"“The grave course of events set in motion by Thanos that wiped out half the universe and fractured the Avengers ranks compels the remaining Avengers to take one final stand in Marvel Studios’ grand conclusion to twenty-two films, Avengers: Endgame.”"

In addition to the synopsis, Marvel has also dropped a new TV spot titled “Honor,” which both honors the fallen heroes and teases the epic battle ahead. Although the footage has been seen already, it effectively depicts the despair of the heroes’ current situation:

As you all must know by now, Endgame is the final film of MCU Phase Three, but not the final film for all of the characters within this shared universe. Little is known on the actual setting post snap, but it’s been speculated that a significant amount of time has passed since the events of Avengers: Infinity War.

While the ensemble film will focus on the original six members of the Avengers team, Cap (Chris Evans) himself followed by Iron-Man (Robert Downey Jr.), Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) and Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner), some of their stories without a shadow of a doubt will conclude – Cap, Iron-Man and Hulk are the most likely candidates.

In addition, there is the matter of their assault against Thanos (Josh Brolin). How will they solve the intrepid snap? Ant-Man (Paul Rudd) could be the key and, of course, there is Captain Marvel (Larson). The only thing that is known is that the survivors will attempt to reverse the damage the Mad Titan caused.

Many actors whose characters were “killed off” in the aftermath of the decimation including Dr. Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch), Spider–Man (Tom Holland), Vision (Paul Bettany), Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen), Star-Lord (Chris Pratt), Gamora (Zoe Saldana) and several others are set to reprise their roles.
