Sebastian Stan opens up about Falcon and Winter Soldier

Sebastian Stan teases what fans can expect from Bucky Barnes and Sam Wilson in Falcon and Winter Soldier.
Marvel Studios’ move to Disney Plus means that a number of new shows will be arriving on the upcoming streaming service, including Falcon and Winter Soldier. Bucky Barnes and Sam Wilson were left in interesting places at the end of Avengers: Endgame, but what does the future hold for them? Well, Sebastian Stan provided a few details on Bucky’s next chapter.
The actor recently appeared at a comic convention (via Comicbook.com) and gave his thoughts on how Barnes will move forward without his best friend, Steve Rogers. Stan believes the ex-assassin will have to forge his own identity while navigating the modern world:
"“I think it’s time for Bucky to go out there and have an identity outside of the circumstances that we’ve met him through. So, I don’t know, he might do all kinds of things. He might even go on a date. I don’t know. Scary world out there, you know? Apps, things like that. I don’t know what he’s gonna do. I can’t see him on an iPhone.”"

Of course, there’s also the matter of his relationship with Sam Wilson/The Falcon, which has been somewhat “shaky” in the past. Conversely, Stan has a strong working relationship with Anthony Mackie and imagines the dynamic between the two will be just as humorous as it was in Captain America: Civil War:
"“I have a blast working with Anthony. It’s very funny half the time. It’s just gonna be a lot of that move your seat up thing, I’m gonna tell him that if we’re gonna be in the car, I’m gonna be in the passenger’s seat and he’s gonna be in the back, or I should be in the driver’s seat.”"
From the moment fans witnessed that car scene in Civil War, fans could see Bucky and Sam had the potential to headline their own Odd Couple-esque project. And as Stan notes, this should lead to plenty of comedic interactions between them.
Despite their differences, the two men are linked by two key elements. The first is their military service, during which they both lost comrades. The other is their relationship with Steve Rogers, whose absence is something the pair will likely still be coping with. It will be interesting to see how they both handle it, especially with Sam now carrying the mantle of Captain America.
Fans won’t have to wait too long to find out how they move on, as Stan revealed the show will start production in October. In addition, Comicbook.com has learned that the series will shoot in Atlanta. With this, it looks like the further adventures of Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes will arrive sometime next year.
