Mark Strong as Professor X

To say James McAvoy and Patrick Stewart performed miraculously isn’t an overstatement, but, they aren’t coming back. Mark Strong as Professor X is as old as the age of fan cast time, and understandably so.

Strong exudes what fans look for in a comic accurate Professor Charles Xavier. On looks alone, he has it in the bag. He brings an intense look that we haven’t seen from McAvoy or Stewart.

Of course, looks aren’t everything, and his resume is littered with examples of his greatness. From Kingsman, to Merlin to The Brothers Grimsby, he’s done it all. And it doesn’t hurt that he’s no stranger to comic book movies.

Although Green Lantern didn’t go over well, Mark Strong made an impression on fans as Sinestro. Apparently, he made an impact on Warner Bros, as they decided to bring him back, this time as the villain for Shazam.  As expected, Strong lived up to the role of Doctor Sivana.

By the time the X-Men are introduced into the MCU, his role in the Shazam sequel as Doctor Sivana will be up. Introduce Strong into the MCU as Professor X and allow him to put his own stamp of the leader of the X-Men.

Professor X doesn’t need to be featured heavily. There are arcs where he’s left out one way or another. Disney has the opportunity to put the spotlight on the team of X-Men instead of Professor X.
